2nd Annual Wine and Art Gala
Saturday March 27, 2010
The 2nd Annual Art and Wine Gala raised $62,130. The attraction of superb food, fine wine and exception art proved to be wonderful evening for those who attended. The art changed the typical scenery at Eclectic Med while the guests displayed such positive energy that flowed throughout the evening.
Pippa Shaw raised the most individual money at $9,500. Auctioneer Al Jefferson raised $6,425 with the wine baskets and $22,100 with the art auction. Heidi Thompson’s Yellow Green Patina sold for $3,000 which was the highest bid for the art.
The 5-course meal created by Head Chef Andrew Fradley was fabulous; a mixture of many culinary regions proved extremely successful. Maggie Voisey and her staff from Gerry O’s Wine and Beer Store’s baskets were so well received every basket sold above retail value. Betty Johnson’s music was warm and provided great comfort between the servings and auction.
This event could not have been this successful without the contributions of the above plus those who donated through money or product. The media played a large role in communicating to our local community. Lastly, for those who came and experienced a Vernon’s WOW, thank-you.
Your support will be used to assist us in the Dreams with ‘People Getting a Life’. This Dream will be achieved by reducing the current over reliance on segregated services for people by exploring and developing more socially inclusive personal lifestyle options and connecting people in the community ‘One Person at a Time’.
